Conor Page is a singer/songwriter and touring artist from Portland, Maine. He has toured all across the United States with his band, The Pages. Aside from writing music, Conor also performs & DJ's as a solo artist at weddings and private events.
We had the pleasure of working with Conor in late 2020. Conor is a friend of Breakwater Studio and he was hoping to have some help shooting videos, establishing a brand, and developing a web presence.
For Conor, the objective was simple: create a legitimate live performance business. He needed a stronger brand and online presence to adequately showcase his talents.
I’d like to chime in and say ARTISTS: IF THERE’S ONE THING THAT’S HOLDING YOU BACK IT’S YOUR BRAND AND CONTENT. So many artists have the WRONG mindset when it comes to growing their business. As artists, we like to believe that we are the best, and people should be happy to have us at their venue, party, or playing on their speakers. This is just simply not true, and to break out above the noise you MUST realize this and establish a legitimate brand.
The first part of our project with Conor consisted of recording 3 x 45-60 second cover tracks and shooting a SIMPLE -one-take video for each of them. Here they are:
We did the videos in two parts:
Recording the tracks
Recording the video to the recorded tracks
We did this so we could have optimal audio + video and still do a one-take style video. We think they came out great! Conor was pumped about the product and the overall ability to make a great product with his budget.
Conor was pumped about the videos, so he hired us again to shoot two full length, live videos. We did one video in our vocal booth at the studio and one video at Conor’s house in Turner, Maine to switch it up.
We decided we wanted to make these videos 100% live. We recorded the audio into my Zoom H6 Handy recorder and recorded the videos on an iPhone 11 + gimbal. Here they are:
Finally, and perhaps most importantly Conor needed a website. Websites are 100% necessary for musicians, whether or not you might think that’s the case. They prove your legitimacy, establish your brand, and give you one central spot to showcase your product. Please, do not undervalue the power of a website.
We helped Conor plan, design, build, and launch his website so he had a solid spot to showcase his material. Check it out!
It was quite the project, but an incredible one! You can check out all of Conor’s shows, videos, and learn more about him by visiting his website at www.conorpage.com
